Chairman’s Message

Muhammed Aziz Khan

Chairman
Anjuman and Aziz Charitable Trust

Dear Friends and Supporters,

It is with immense gratitude and joy that I extend my warmest greetings to you all. As we commemorate the remarkable journey of our trust since its inception just a few short years ago, I am filled with a sense of awe and accomplishment.

Our mission at the Anjuman and Aziz Charitable Trust is to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of individuals and communities through dedicated philanthropic efforts. While we are still in our nascent years, the trust has already made significant strides in fulfilling this mission across international borders.

As a child growing up in Bangladesh, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the underprivileged and marginalised members of society. I saw what it means to be truly destitute. These experiences instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and a burning desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

I witnessed firsthand the suffering, anguish, hunger, and loss of life among the children affected by the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. The disregard for children's rights, the pervasive hunger, the sight of emaciated bodies, the heartbreaking effects of malnutrition manifesting in folded skin, the swollen bellies due to edema, and the heart-wrenching scenes of children being cradled by dying mothers haunt me to this day.

These are sights that I never want to see again.

With the establishment of the Anjuman and Aziz Charitable Trust, I sought to channel my resources and energy into initiatives that would uplift and empower individuals and communities in need. Our focus areas encompass education, healthcare, community development, and disaster relief.

One of the most rewarding aspects of our work has been the opportunity to witness the transformative power of education. Through our scholarship programs and support for educational institutions, we have enabled countless students to pursue their academic dreams and break the cycle of poverty.

The Anjuman and Aziz Charitable Trust has had the privilege of collaborating with UNICEF, UNICEF's mission to provide humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and families worldwide aligns perfectly with our own commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of the most vulnerable. Through our partnership with UNICEF, we have been able to reach even more children and families in need, providing essential support in areas such as education, healthcare, nutrition, and protection. Together, we are working to create a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

In the realm of healthcare, we have established grants for various clinics, including the National Heart Centre in Singapore, and the world-renowned icddr,b in Bangladesh, providing vital medical care and health education to those who would otherwise have limited access to these services. Our community development initiatives have focused on improving infrastructure, creating sustainable livelihoods, and promoting social cohesion.

As we look ahead, we are committed to expanding our reach and impact even further. We are actively exploring new partnerships, innovative solutions, and sustainable development models to maximize our effectiveness.

I am immensely grateful to our dedicated team of trustees and volunteers who have made this journey possible. Your unwavering support and belief in our mission have been the driving force behind our accomplishments.

Together, let us continue to work tirelessly to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a life of dignity, purpose, and fulfillment.

With warm regards,

Muhammed Aziz Khan
